Give us the scoop on how OohLaLa Luxe was born!

We both interned for some of the greatest names in fashion and loved the industry, but have always dreamt of creating something of our own. Having our own accessories line allows us to work on both the creative side as well as the business side of the company…it’s the best of both worlds!

High quality and fashionable products seem very important to your company. Where do the materials come from?

We continue to search NYC for the best materials for our headbands and triple wrap bracelets. We antique hunt throughout NY to find the most unique brooches for our VINTAGE collection. Quality is definitely the most important factor but we also look for more unusual materials to make our designs even more exclusive.

Having headbands with names like “Cait” and “Brooke” we have to ask, are your products dedicated to friends and family?

Our friends and family have been an integral part of our launch; we could never have done it with out them. Each piece in our collection has its own style that quite often reminds us of someone close to us.

How do you come up with your flirty and unique designs?

We really just draw inspiration from everywhere; nature, fashion, art, people. When we find an amazing material we just run with it and experiment until we come up with the perfect design for it. Right now most of our designs have been focused on headbands because they are just as functional as they are fab for the summer months.

Diane Von Furstenberg is such an inspirational woman. What was it like working for her?

It was definitely the most amazing experience of both of our lives. Just being in the same room with Diane is amazing and really opened our minds to the creative process. We also learned a tremendous amount about the business side of the industry which is definitely coming in handy now!

Can you tell us about any designs in the works?

Right now we are collaborating with a designer to create a handbag line to launch this fall. This is a very exciting process and we cannot wait to share our fabulous designs with everyone. We are always cognizant of carrying our two mottos throughout all of our designs: “You only need one fabulous piece to spark your entire wardrobe” and “functionality is just as important and fabulousity”.
