Vena Cava For Aqua

Vena Cava, the high-priced brand adored by celebrities, has partnered with Bloomie’s for a limited-edition line. Vena Cava for Aqua will hit the racks and the web on September 1. It is a 19-piece capsule collection comprised of flowy, printed tanks, fitted dresses and cropped pants. Creators Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai describe their new designs as “soft and edgy.”

To me, this is almost like a Target collaboration. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Aqua, it is Bloomingdale’s in-house, lower priced line. Yes, it is advertised as being for juniors, however, I have purchased a few Aqua numbers…and I haven’t been disappointed yet. In fact, my sister recently bought me an Aqua boyfriend blazer for my birthday. I wasn’t looking for an expensive blazer (this one was $88), I know I will wear it all the time, and it fits much better than any other I have tried this season.

But back to the matter at hand! Vena Cava for Aqua will be priced from $98 to $198. Here is a sneak peak of some of the pretty pieces.

Emma Watson Shows Off Her New Clothing Collection!

She looks awesome! I’m so happy she decided to keep her long locks for the photo shoot. Check out these pics for her latest campaign for Fair Trade fashion brand People Tree.

Emma admits she only had a small part in creating the line, explaining:

Although I wasn’t centrally involved in the design of this collection, I had great fun in helping People Tree select some gorgeous Fair Trade textiles – a dogtooth hand-woven check, cable knits, and the first Fair Trade hand-woven brushed checked fabric which has been made into easy tulip skirts, dresses and shirts.

The Harry Potter actress continues:

There are even a few party dresses, such as the little black satin tulip dress which can be dressed up or down to suit any occasion.

What do you guys think of the clothing? Is it something you’d be interested in spending money on? I found their website online, and everything is actually pretty cute!

Christina Hendricks Teams Up With London Fog

One word: GORGEOUS. Check out the pictures below from Christina Hendricks’ London Fog Fall 2010 campaign. She makes even a classic raincoat look like a piece of haute couture! (After all, she was recently named the “Best-Looking Woman in America” by Esquire magazine.)

London Fog says it chose the Mad Men actress for her “glamorous and sophisticated persona.” How very Joan Harris of them! Here’s what Christina had to say about her new venture:

London Fog is a classic brand, which I love. It also ties in to Mad Men, we used London Fog in the show and this was a nice way to tie everything together. The trench is such an iconic shape for men and women. It works for anyone – it worked in the 1960s and it works now.

Hendricks is in good company. Past London Fog spokespeople have included Eva Longoria Parker and Tony Parker, Gisele Bündchen and Teri Hatcher. Check out Hendricks’ ads in the October issues of fashion and lifestyle magazines such as Elle, Cosmopolitan and InStyle, outdoor and online. Here’s some behind the scenes footage from her sexy shoot. Enjoy:

Trendy Sneakers For Fall

Written by Vanessa Antonelli, NessaLeeStyle.com

Sneakers are back for fashion over function. In fact, this fall they are going to infringe on other shoes’ territory. Seriously. After the run that sneakers gave flip flops this summer, this “trend” will continue far into the fall. If you think I’m talking about running shoes, I should be embarrassed. Come on, give me a little more credit than that. I’m talking flat (obviously), casual sneakers that look cute and cool, but definitely won’t break the bank. You can wear them with jeans, dresses and probably whatever outfit you can concoct in between. So make room for them in your wardrobe and bump out a few outfits that would otherwise call for boots or ballet flats. Sorry guys, better luck next season.

Over the years I’ve acquired a variety of solid colored Chuck Taylors that are my go-to casual sneaker. This fall I’m switching it up with a pair of the classics in high top. Think I’m crazy? Trust me and try a white or black pair with a flowy mini dress. Fold over the top and don’t tie them too tight. $45

Stylish, eco friendly and water resistant. No, not bulky rain boots. These Native Jefferson shoes are great for fall walks, yard work and the last of the year’s warm rainy days. $45

When 1993 went, I swore I’d never wear a pair of Keds again. Well, I said the same thing about leggings so lesson learned. Now I’m loving this metallic silver pair in the Champion style. They will look great with a pair of double cuffed skinny jeans and a basic white t-shirt. How’s that for a specific vision? $45

If you aren’t too sure how much you want to invest in this trend then this pair by Mossimo is for you. Their shape is very similar to the classic Keds, but their price can’t be beat. Less than most manicures! I have a “sneaking” suspicion that the red or navy would do just fine in most wardrobes. $9

The thing about Toms Shoes is that you can look casually cool and be doing a good deed all that the same time. Sure, it’s not entirely altruistic, but if you are going to buy something it’s always nice to donate to those who don’t have. My pick is the Red Newport Stripe Cordones. Eye catching, but fun. $69

Temple St. Clair For Target

We’re craving long, boho-style necklaces and oversized cocktail rings for Fall…and Temple St. Clair has answered our prayers! The designer, whose baubles are known to fly off shelves at Bergdorfs and Saks, has teamed up with Target. Temple St. Clair for Target will make it’s debut on August 29th…and everything is under $50! Here’s what the designer told Fashionista.com about the collaboration:

I’ve said no to plenty of others, but Target was an easy choice. I really like how they showcase designers and how they support the arts. When they approached me I was flattered, because it puts me in great company, with the ready to wear designers that have worked with them. I don’t feel like it compromises my brand in anyway.

From statement necklaces and earrings to charm bracelets and bejeweled bands, Temple St. Clair’s collection is delicate, whimsical and girly…with a late 60s/early 70s vibe. How cute with a blazer or sweater dress?! Here’s a sneak peek:

Taylor Momsen: Material Girl

Looks like Taylor Momsen has a brand new gig: Material Girl. The actress/musician was hand-picked by Madonna and her daughter Lola for to rep their brand new clothing line. (Named Material Girl, natch.) The collection will hit the racks at Macys’ beginning August 3rd. It’s a little bit rock n’ roll, a little bit flirty girl. Madge thinks Taylor’s unique sense of style fits right in with the look they’re going for. Here’s what Taylor had to say:

I’m psyched to be the face of Material Girl! For one, it’s Madonna so you know it’s gonna be cool and working with Madonna and Lola has been an unbelievable experience. They have such great sense of style, each brought their personal touch to the styling for the campaign. A Material Girl can be anyone you want, it’s all about making the style your own, that’s what is cool about it.

The video below has behind the scenes footage of Taylor, Madonna and, of course, the clothes. (Madonna was totally hands-on. She even helped style the shoot…and played photographer!) What do you guys think? Will you be checking out the line at Macy’s?

Tips For Buying Vintage

Written By Annie Creamcheese

By Annie Creamcheese

Wearing vintage clothes has always been a part of my life. I especially love the thrill of the hunt and finding a unique one of kind piece. The trick is knowing how to incorporate vintage into your contemporary closet. If the clothes seem a bit overwhelming, you can always start with vintage Jewelry, one of my personal favorites. Vintage Jewelry will always compliment any modern contemporary outfit. There really are no rules, you can go with one bold statement piece or you can pile on as much as you’d like!

When shopping for vintage jewelry, there are a few things to keep in mind:

1. Make sure you ask any and all questions; What decade is the piece from? What types of metal is piece made of ? Is the piece signed by a known designer?
2. Thoroughly check the quality and condition of the piece; Does the piece show any wear? Is it losing some of it’s luster? Are all the hardware functioning properly?
3. When choosing a necklace, ask yourself if you have the appropriate dress/blouse that will compliment the piece and if it’s a bold statement piece, then be sure to pair it with a simple silhouette so that it will stand out.
4. When choosing a ring or bracelet, its best to choose something that is comfortable first, and fashionable later. Comfort always reigns supreme in my book.
5. GOLD versus SILVER. Personally, I love gold-toned jewelry and both will never go out of style. Always try to buy a broad range of both colors to make sure you will always have the right piece to go with any outfit and to stay current with trends.

If you have never shopped for Vintage clothing, here are a few tips that will make your hunt a little less daunting:

1. When you go vintage shopping, pre-plan your day. Research local vintage stores and call ahead to ask about price range, store hours and directions. Allow yourself at least two hours to try on different styles and different decades so you can find the best fitting piece that will suit your taste, personality, and body type.
2. Bring a shopping buddy and try to go during the week to avoid crowds and long lines at the fitting room.
3. Have an open mind and try on EVERYTHING. In my experience so many women have fallen in love with dresses they “would have never picked”.
4. Check and make sure the dress/garment is in good condition. Look for any stains, piling, strong odor, missing buttons or broken zippers. When buying Vintage, garments will always have some type of wear but make sure the piece is wearable and the main construction is intact.
5. If you are buying your very first vintage dress, try a basic Little Black Dress. Search for the right fit, and pair with modern jewelry and shoes. Let the dress speak for itself.

About Annie Creamcheese

Annie Lee, of ANNIE CREAMCHEESE, has been a vintage and fashion junkie from an early age. Voted ‘Best Dressed’ of her senior class in high school, she has managed to parlay her love of mixing vintage clothing with today’s contemporary style into a lucrative and rewarding career. After seven years in the beauty industry, pampering the rich and famous, she decided to pursue her lifelong dream of opening and operating a vintage clothing boutique. The idea for ANNIE CREAMCHEESE was born between Garrett and Annie one night while watching Julia Roberts traverse down the red carpet in a vintage Valentino gown. Annie has had a long obsession with vintage clothing and bemoaned the lack of a quality vintage clothing store in the DC Metro area. With some planning and a six month long shopping spree, ANNIE CREAMCHEESE was born. Starting out on eBay, their website, flea markets, the idea has spawned two successful stores with more hopefully to follow.

The flagship store is located in Washington D.C’s iconic Georgetown neighborhood, while the Las Vegas location can be found at The Shoppes at the Palazzo. Throughout the incredible growth of ANNIE CREAMCHEESE, Annie remains dedicated to one goal – to bring high end, high quality vintage clothing to discerning consumers.
